Valentine's Crafty Fun

So,I like to craft, but with short one, my craft time is few and far between.

I need something easy and fast these days. Enter the t-shirt wreath.

I saw this on a blog a while back and decided, yep, that's my skill level these days. Cut, stick and glue!

What you will need:
- t-shirt material - about 3/4 yard or an XXL t-shirt
- scissors
- glue gun
- cardboard
- ribbon

Step 1: Cut out a LOAD of squares. And when you think you have enough, cut out more. Trust me. My squares were about 1.5"x1.5"

Step 2: Cut out your desired shape out of a sturdy cardboard. It needs to be able to hold weight, or reinforce a thinner cardboard with wood or plastic pieces on the back.

Step 3: Scrunch up with a point at the bottom like you would do with tissue paper. Place a dot of glue on the bottom point and glue to your shape.

Step 4: Place pieces right up close to one another. This will give you the fluffy look and hold up your material as you go along. KEEP GLUING!

Step 5: Glue, staple or pin your ribbon on the back of your shape to hang.

Step 6: Step back, and enjoy!

Lucky 200!

Can you believe it? I've made it to my 200th post. And sadly not much to say.

Except, Sew Mama Sew...excellent giveaway. I actually won something...a few something. Crazy! There are some amazingly creative people out there who are wonderful enough to share their craftiness and their passion with the world. It's a good thing. Handmade things with love are the best -- especially when they are cute to boot! Thank you to all the talented crafters who participated!

Also, my mom told me the other day that one of our faithful neighborhood cats has been having a hard go of it lately. He's about 12 yrs or so, and life may just be catching up to him. So in honor of Wilbur the Wondercat, I thought I would share a few of these with you:

How about that!

Thanks to Sew, Mama, Sew for hosting their first Giveaway Day last week, you know why?? I won something! It was so neat to see all of these crafty people out there in the world and so honored that they would share their creations with their jealous skill-lacking compatriots like myself.

Well, I just so happen to comment on the most precious birdie wristlet at Empty Elizabeth, and I won! How fun, how fun! And thank you so much, Elizabeth! I can't wait!

Who's excited for Giveaway Day '09! I am! Heck, maybe I'll contribute too!

A bit of inspiration...

So, all it took for my to find my inner seamstress (yeah right) was the announcement that my buddies Lydia and Jon were going to have a baby Caleb! That started me on a roll to create a few little baby gifts and other crafts.

Here are a few that made a recent appearance at Lydia's shower:

A few little balls for a precious little boy. Soft and squishy to mouth on and and get his pitching arm into shape!
A swaddle blanket for the little man, complete with zoo animals.
A contoured burp cloth.
A lovey blankie complete with little tabs, perfect for a curious Caleb.
A few other burp cloths that just had to be made...All Boy!
Lydia's favorite print of the season.
Circles and dots...just too darn fun!
