Fun New Find

I just wanted to share my latest fun, new find. One of the clients at where I work is a stationary shop. If you know me, you also know my love of and desire to own a stationary store.

So, while we were visiting our clients, preparing their new Web site, www.celebrationsandinvitations.com, I noticed this little gem. It's so great. It's an address stamp that functions like an embosser. You can personalize it with several designs to choose from and I just thought it was the cutest thing in the world. So keep a look out, my letters might start to get a tad bit more trendy.

That is so cool! I guess you could stamp the back of an envelope with that? Would it work (postal-wise) to put it in the top left on the front, since it's a circle?

That would be fun to put a website on...hm....

Leanna,
I think a stationary shop/scrapbooking store would be great! Lydia says there's not a single scrapbooking store in Ft. Worth...imagine!

Cute embosser. Is the image raised as well as inked?

OK, so Lydia is the entrepreneur, and Leanna has a great eye for style... you two should open your dream store! Then, invite Carolyn to do scrapbooking seminars. See? Everyone's blog wishes come true!

Karen, we're trying!! But something about a new city, new job, soon-to-be new husband makes Leanna think she's too busy right now. :)

I mean, really, what a massive investment and jump into the unknown after all that?!

But we've seriously considered the possibility. We have plans to have an official brainstorming session after everything settles down for my very busy friend here. :)

There will always be excuses NOT to take the plunge. That's why many people have ideas for business, but so few actually start one. That's why I can't just bring myself to quit my job and freelance.

Face it...we have no nerve because we have no safety net.

It would be nice if our blog wishes came true!

Well that's why God made some of us impulsive, so we'll take the plunge. Not because we have nerve, but because we didn't think about it enough to be afraid of the risks. :)

Then God made others with endurance, to make the plunge of the impulsive one work longer than the first week (because we impulsive people get tired of our impulses quickly).

All it takes is a little work, and a little risk. I'm on a possible path right now, trying to get into my first art thing. So far there's been an investment, but nothing like a new business. And there will be discipline involved, and I'm working hard at that.

Karen is freelancing some on the side; it would be an easy transition someday when freelancing makes more than the 9-5 job, to quit the job.

And I think my mom has more potential than she thinks. She's already led a crop at her house, and I bet she'll do more.

And as far as Leanna's and my dream store...it'll happen someday. Or maybe we'll just keep enjoying the creativity for ourselves. :)

My version of the American Dream: Do what you love, and get paid for it!

Well, with the direction somethings are going, our meeting could happen sooner rather than later. Maybe I can get a job at a store and steal their ideas and then improve upon.

I really enjoy creativity. But I do lack the plunge factor sometimes. That's why I have Joe and Lydia!

Oh Mrs. D -- no it's not raised, but it's still really cute!

New post! New post! Tell us more about your boss. Unless you think it's too risky to blog about (like I did).
